March 2026

Champagne Battles, Winemakers in Town & Kitchen Takeover

Village Saturday: Champagne Battles

7 Mar, Sat | 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM

Welcome to our first-ever Village Saturday — a pre-dinner format designed for sharper palates and earlier pours.

This edition: Champagne Battles.

We apply the Burgundian lens to Champagne’s two most prestigious sub-regions: Montagne de Reims vs. Côte des Blancs

A study in contrast. Blind format. Bring a bottle or reserve one with us.

Pinot Noix with Daniel Twardowski

10 Mar, Tue | 6:30 PM – 8:30 PM

We are honoured to welcome Daniel Twardowski to SBR for an intimate dinner and tasting.

Daniel is known for using grafted Pinot Noir clones sourced from friends in Burgundy, including Ponsot and DRC. His early wines were aged in barrels from DRC and Leroy, shaped by an ambition many once thought audacious.

Watching ravens crack walnut shells on the slate soils of Hofberg, the name “Pinot Noix” was born — “noix” meaning nut in French, a playful nod to both the landscape and those who once thought his ambition was madness.

Today, Pinot Noix stands among the most compelling and collectible expressions of Pinot Noir from Germany — slate-driven, intensely site-specific, and Burgundian in spirit yet unmistakably Mosel.

Wines to be poured:

• Ultra Brut Blanc de Noirs
• Riesling Kabinett 2024
• Pinot Noix 3rd 2021
• Pinot Noix Ardoise 2018, 2020, 2021
• Pinot Noix Hofberg Réserve 2020, 2022

Dinner included. Selected wines available at special event pricing.

Kitchen Takeover Returns: The Drunken Cat

15 Mar, Sun | 6:30 PM – late

Our Kitchen Takeover returns after a hiatus, and we’re bringing it back with serious flavour.

We’re thrilled to welcome Amanda Loo of Drunken Cat, known for her Japanese-influenced, flavour-driven cooking that balances precision with boldness.

Wine Theme: Floral & Feather. Think aromatic & lifted. Bring wines that are perfumed and elegant. Think fragrance over power, lift over weight. Both white and red welcome.

Japan vs. Japan (Supper Club Edition)

14 Feb, Sat | 9:00 PM onwards

late-night wine showdown exploring identity, terroir, and the global footprint of Japanese winemakers working within Japan vs Japanese winemakers crafting wines abroad. Same heritage. Different soils. Different climates. Different expressions.

We’ll be pouring 10 wines, featuring makers including:

From Japan:

• Takahiko
• Domaine Yui
• Beau Paysage
• Hamada Vineyard

Japanese Winemakers Abroad:

• Kei Shiogai (Burgundy)
• Domaine Uchida (Bordeaux)
• Jintaro Yura (Alsace)
• Waimarama (New Zealand)

Plus a few surprise bottles to keep things interesting.

This is a relaxed, supper-club style evening — move between stations, revisit your favourites, compare notes, and explore the lineup at your own pace.

Paired with a late-night ramen bar and gyoza, think late-night Tokyo energy meets serious wine geekery.
